Dan's Prayers for Choir Practice

Dear Lord,
We meet here tonight with daytime voices, voices that have carried us through work or shopping or telephone time; voices that we take for granted. One of the reasons that we meet here is that in singing Your praises we are able to use those everyday voices for a loftier purpose. They are transformed from a conversational tool to an instrument that can raise our souls, that can free our spirits and bring us closer to You. We pray, Lord, that You might help us to feel the joy in music, the harmony that sums up Your love, and that in exploring a higher purpose for our voices we might know You better. All these things we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
