Dear Lord,
As our days grow darker and rainier and colder,
we know that there is
more of the same to come.
Behind the rain and wind
that will come,
even as the days shorten,
we know that there is a light;
a light of Your promise, made real through the birth of Your son.
We await the dark days ahead with joy,
knowing that they will be illuminated by family and friends
and love and song, that Your love and word and way
guide us and strengthen us even as the days change.
We thank You for Your love, Lord,
and for the gift of Your son, who lights the world. Amen.
