Northwood United Church offers many room sizes and capacities. We are conveniently located one block North of Fraser Highway at 156th Street, and just four blocks from the 152nd Skytrain station (projected opening in 2025).

2024 Rates are set out as follows: 

Sanctuary - our sanctuary offers seating for 300 with the option to remove the chairs for a workshop or reception area. The sanctuary offers a Baby Grand piano, upright organ & drums. We have three standing mics and one at the pulpit. There is an overhead screen for your PowerPoint. We are a very popular venue for piano recitals and concerts. The sanctuary rents for $110.25/hour.

Fireside Room - this is a small venue with a quaint feel. There is an upright piano and a keyboard available. Our natural gas fireplace, leather sofa and chairs, coffee and end tables makes it feel like 'home'. There is a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. We have a large meeting table, or to serve food and sit to enjoy a meal with your small group. This is a wonderful space for a small piano recital. This room rents for $52.50/hour.

Gathering Area/Foyer - ideal for a birthday celebration, wedding or crafting workshop. This area accommodates 10 - 12 8 ft. round tables with 6 - 8 chairs per table. This area rents for $58.00/hour

Kitchen - our kitchen has three sinks, one large upright stainless steel fridge, one chest style freezer (½ available) and a dish sanitizer. We have a 12 cup coffee machine and boiling water on tap. Stainless tea and coffee urns, plus two coffee percolators, one 40 cup, and one 125 cup. The kitchen rents for $110.25/hour. Coffee percolators $20 for the 125 cup, $10 for the 40 cup.

Classroom 1 - seating for 20 - 30, rents for $33.00/hour. There is a flat screen TV wall mounted. 

Classroom 2 & 3 - this is a larger room that has a collapsible wall, if you desire after your initial gathering to break into two smaller groups for discussions. There is a small sink, counter and microwave. There is a flat screen TV on the wall. This room rents for $47.25/hour. 

**This room is a daycare during the week and nothing in the room belonging to the daycare may be used. 

SPECIAL RATES

Music Recitals - Use of Sanctuary and Foyer for maximum 3 hours

  • $220.50 set price includes use of piano, drums, up to 2 microphones, music stands
  • includes access to tables and chairs in the Foyer
  • does not include security/custodial fee
  • $100 fee for use of a second piano
  • While we do regular upkeep, maintenance, and tuning on our pianos, extra tunings will be at the renter’s expense and must employ a tuner/technician approved by Northwood United Church Office.

Day Rate 

  • 10 hours in the day (example 8:00 am – 6:00 pm)
  • Access to more than 1 area of the church
  • $ 882.00 includes kitchen use
  • does not include security/hosting fee (if needed)


Hosting - we will provide a host for your event. Your host will open the church; assist with setup for your event and in the case of shorter events will stay onsite until you are finished. Our hosting fee is $80 with a minimum 4-hour charge; each additional hour is $20/hour. 

Damage Deposit - to secure your rental we must receive your damage deposit within five days of your inquiry, along with a signed rental agreement, which we will prepare. The full rental fee is due no later than two weeks prior to your event. We prefer e-transfer to office@northwood-united.org, but we do accept cheques or a money order.
