Dan's Prayers for Choir Practice

Dear Lord,
We have come
to our final
rehearsal of 2011,
and although
we have one more
time together this year
we cannot help but
cast our minds back over
the many Thursday evenings
that we have spent together
in this, Your house,
and all of the music
that we have sung.
There have been anthems,
fast and slow,
loud and soft,
joyous and solemn,
and every one of them, Lord,
has been in praise of You.
We pray that
all of our musical offerings
have been pleasing to You;
they have been joyous for us,
and singing Your praise
and spreading the message of Your love
warms our hearts.
As we approach the end of our Advent season
and prepare to celebrate,
help us keep the warmth of all those anthems
in our hearts and minds,
and help us to always appreciate the love
that we feel with the people around us.
We thank You for Your love.
