Dear Companions on the Journey,
Lenten greetings to all of you!
This week, we observe the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21.
For this year, we invite you to explore—and share!—the United Church’s brand-new list 10 Additional Ways to Work Towards Anti-Racism. Please feel free to post this list on social media, to note it in your church bulletin or newsletter, or to add it as a link on your own church website!
This list builds on the popularity of lists in previous years, and features new and dynamic ways of continuing to work towards anti-racism in your own communities of faith.
You might also highlight any of the individual items. For example, would people in your congregation want to sign up for the new online series, Wait, Is This Racist? Are there youth in your community who might be interested in the youth app, AR4YT? Would you like to view, and share, this short video featuring people across the United Church sharing their ideas for anti-racist actions?
These, and many more ideas, are included on this year’s 10 Ways list.
If you’re curious about previous years consider also exploring 10 Ways to Work Towards Anti-Racism, from 2022, and 10 More Ways to Towards Anti-Racism from 2023.
As always, your ideas and comments are welcome by e-mail to anti-racism@united-church.ca or by sharing in the United Church’s Anti-Racism Facebook group.
Continued blessings on your continued journeys through these days together.
With thanks,
Adele Halliday and the Creation Team for the 40 Days of Engagement on Anti-Racism
