September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

As we continue to work towards reconciliation, we consider how we might honour this important day. For full details on ways you might consider, please visit the “news” section www.northwood-united.org. There is a section on helpful resources https://www.northwood-united.org/news/orange-shirt-day-suggestions-on-furthering-peace-and-reconciliation. We have placed links from our Northwood page for the “Reconciliation 101” event many attended with Kim Baird at KPU https://www.northwood-united.org/news/reconciliation-101-with-kim-baird. In addition, you may wish to review last year’s September 30th service hosted at Northwood. https://www.northwood-united.org/news/sept-30-service-for-truth-and-reconciliation Within the larger community, you will find events listed from the City of Surrey webpage that include a “virtual tour” as well as Surrey’s Indigenous Art Collection viewings. In person opportunities include “Skookum Surrey” on September 29 as well as the 3rd annual “Walk for Truth and Reconciliation” at 11am.
